Dan is a proud local from Carnarvon, having been born and raised in the region. His family's business, ST Kuzmicich, has been a cornerstone of the local horticultural industry, supplying fresh produce to markets since the 1960s.
From a young age, Dan was involved in the family plantation while also actively participating in community life, including playing football for Ramblers Football Club during the 1980s. In 1986, Dan moved to Perth to further pursue his passion for football, joining East Fremantle Football Club in the WAFL. He returned to Carnarvon in 2003 to co-manage the family business alongside his brother, Rob.
Over the years, Dan has developed extensive expertise in horticulture, both in hands-on growing and in industry leadership. He served as Chairman of Vegetables WA from 2015 to 2024 and is currently a member of Hort Innovation’s Vegetable Strategic Investment Advisory Panel (SIAP). Through these roles, he has gained deep insights into the challenges and opportunities facing growers in Carnarvon and across Australia.
Dan remains deeply committed to supporting the long-term viability of the horticulture industry. His passion lies in identifying sustainable pathways for growers, ensuring they can continue to innovate and thrive in an increasingly complex agricultural landscape.
