Welcome to the Gascoyne Development Commission (GDC),  a State Government agency committed to achieving sustainable development in the Gascoyne Region.

CALLING FOR BOARD NOMINATIONS

The Gascoyne Development Commission is calling for nominations for membership of the Commission's Board. Four positions become vacant in November. Three of the vacancies are for Ministerial appointees and one for a community appointee.

People may nominate themselves or others. Organisations can also nominate individuals. Nominations are open until close of business on August 20 2008. Information booklets and nomination forms can be downloaded here.

Residents are encouraged to consider the contribution they could make as a member of the Gascoyne Development Commission Board. “Board members make an important contribution to the Gascoyne region,” said GDC chief executive officer Stephen Yule

Assisting trade development

Through her new role as Tradestart Export Advisor for the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), Rebecca Tate is now extending customised export services to small businesses and industry in the Gascoyne. Ms Tate is available to provide advice, market intelligence and support to companies to reduce the time, cost and risk involved in selecting, entering and developing international markets.

In-home day care business opportunity

The GDC and the Shire of Carnarvon are working together to encourage and inform people about the advantages of becoming a Family Day Care Provider. Family Day Care providers run a small day care service from their own homes.

Sailing through life

The availability of the surf cats has opened up a multitude of opportunities for the Exmouth community to get involved with sailing and increased membership at the Exmouth Yacht Club (EYC).
The GDC has contributed to this exciting outcome by funding materials and equipment to repair four surf cats donated to the EYC.
