Tym has more than three decades of experience in developing sustainable projects and initiatives for regional WA, within both the public and private sectors. With qualifications in conservation and land management and resource economics, he has a passion for identifying and delivering projects that deliver private and public benefits and create value for current and future generations. These have included international reforestation efforts, the State’s first carbon farming projects and initiatives to improve the sustainable use of water resources throughout the State. He has occupied leadership roles in developing economic infrastructure including ports, industrial processing facilities and energy production.
Tym has over a decade of Board experience for organisations specialising in research and development, technology start-ups, rural industry development and a water cooperative. He is currently a non-executive director of a metropolitan-based renewable energy development company representing international investors.
Tym brings his unique and invaluable experience to the GDC Board as an ex-officio member and to the GDC’s day-to-day operations as Chief Executive Officer. His skills and knowledge are directly applicable to Gascoyne’s major growth industries of primary production, tourism development and renewable energy.
