Gascoyne Region Aboriginal Art Exhibition
The first broad public event at Gwoonwardu Mia (the Gascoyne Aboriginal Heritage and Culture Centre) will be an exhibition of Aboriginal art works.
The Gascoyne Aboriginal Heritage and Cultural Centre Inc. Board of Management proudly present the Gascoyne Region Aboriginal Art Exhibition
This exhibition will feature 21 talented Aboriginal artists from across the Gascoyne Region. These exhibiting artists include:
Barry Bellotti, Janeen Dale, Daphnie Drummond, Raymond Edney, Lucy Esgin, Jason Hapke, Bonni Ingram, Carole Kelly, Donald Kelly, Leslie Lee, Ruby McIntosh, Esma McMahon, Biance McNeair, Teresa Miller, Elaine Moncrieff, Kathleen Musulin, Teresa Pedrocci, Keno Phillips, Jimmy Poland, Antoinette Roe and Marjorie Winmar.
The exhibition will open on Friday 23 October and be on display until 18 December.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to view a diverse range of original contemporary and traditional artworks including paintings, drawings, printmaking, sculpture, woven fibre-work, textiles and carvings.
While many of the artworks are for display only, there will also be a limited number of pieces available for sale to interest an avid art collector or anyone looking to start collecting.

GDC project officer Sue Helmot, supported by Centre Indigenous staff, has taken the lead role in co-ordinating the exhibition.
As well as attending the exhibition, people are invited to browse through the gallery, indulge in delicious bush tucker at the Yallabirri Cafe and enjoy the grounds and the performance space.
Gwoonwardu Mia (The Gascoyne Aboriginal Heritage and Culture Centre) is open 10.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
