Leadership and Governance
Investment in the leadership skills and capacity of community members to actively and effectively contribute is integral to healthy, strong and sustainable communities. Due to the changing nature of communities and their members, leadership skills and new leaders require regular or frequent development and support.
One of the challenges of leadership programs is being able to sustain the enthusiasm and energy that results from the personal development realised through the participation in a course, maintaining the networks and achieving substantiated outcomes and benefits to the community.
The GDC will play a strategic role in building the capacity of the region’s communities by focussing on the following outcome areas:
