As the youth of today are tomorrow’s future numerous private and government bodies in the Gascoyne Region have identified that it is of paramount importance to nurture growth and support mental and physical development.
There are two Police and Citizens Youth Clubs in the Gascoyne that offer recreational facilities including, gymnastics, gymnasium and a variety of recreational activities as well as school holiday programs. Guides, scouts and cadets are also on offer.
There are many sporting and leisure activities available in the Gascoyne Regions in all major towns supported by Department of Sport and Recreation.
Camel Lane Theatre in Carnarvon screens new movies at the cinema and hosts various performances, up and coming events can be seen in the Carnarvon Shire Calendar.
The safety and well being of youth in the Gascoyne is monitored and strategies are active to ensure youth live in a happy safe environment. Strategies such as the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan and Youth Junior Council Program: both coordinated by the Shire of Carnarvon.
