Small Grant Scheme
The Small Grant Scheme is a new grant being offered under the Royalties for Regions banner. It is designed for applications of up to $10,000. In the Gascoyne, an amount of $100,000 is set aside in 2009/2010 for these grants and can be applied for at any time until the funds are fully allocated.
Eligible applicants include local governments, volunteer organizations, business groups, education institutions, philanthropic foundations and community organizations which must be incorporated or have similar status.
The Scheme is not intended for to provide support to individuals or individual businesses unless it can be shown that a significant benefit will accrue to the broader community or industry sector.
Funding is available under the Scheme to improve economic and community infrastructure and services in the Gascoyne. Priority will be given to projects that assist in attracting investment and increasing jobs or to help improve the quality of life in the region.
The Commission Board will assess applications under this program. Decisions on the Gascoyne Regional Grants Scheme Small Grants Fund may take between 2 to 8 weeks. Successful applications will be reported to Cabinet on a six-monthly basis.
