Gascoyne Regional Grant Scheme Round 2

Royalties for Regions heralds an exciting new era for investment in regional Western Australia.

The Gascoyne Regional Grants Scheme is one of a series of Royalties for Regions funding initiatives designed to make regional areas including the Gascoyne Region an even better place to live, work and grow.

The second round of the Gascoyne Regional Grant Scheme was opened by the Minister for Regional Development Brendon Grylls on 20 October 2009 and will close on 10 February 2010.

Funding is available under the Scheme to improve economic and community infrastructure and services in the Gascoyne. Priority will be given to projects that assist in attracting investment and increasing jobs or to help improve the quality of life in the region.

The Gascoyne Development Commission has received $5 million in the 2009/2010 and a minimum of $3.5 million will be available in the contestable round.

Eligible applicants include local governments, volunteer organizations, business groups, education institutions, philanthropic foundations and community organizations which must be incorporated or have similar status.

The Scheme is not intended for to provide support to individuals or individual businesses unless it can be shown that a significant benefit will accrue to the broader community or industry sector.

A business case will be required for applications of $150,000 or more.
In Round 2 grant applications will be more competitive if they can demonstrate the capacity to leverage funds from other sources.
